The speaker line-up for 2023's TGE Conference continues to grow...

We're excited to announce the full topic outlines for this year's core conference strands and a HUGE list of new speakers joining us in May, including a new in conversation session with Roisin O'Connor, Culture News & Music Editor of The Independent.

Leading experts from the music industry will be joining the team from CMU to cover the latest trends and developments across education, deals and the creator economy - and what these mean for educators, artists, their business partners and the music industry more broadly.

This year's TGE Conference runs for four days from Wednesday 10 May to Saturday 13 May 2023 at the Leonardo Royal Waterfront Hotel in Brighton.

TOPIC OUTLINES ANNOUNCED

Full topic outlines have been published for each of the CMU+TGE strands this year - which are...

  • the Music + Education strand on Wednesday 10 May
  • the Music + Deals strand on Thursday 11 May
  • the Music + The Creator Economy strand on Friday 12 May

The three core strands will look at how the UK music industry can continue to punch above its weight in the global music market, how a new national strategy for music from the government could help achieve that, and how the evolution of consumption is powering innovation in both deals and creation.

Music + Education will ask how the music industry and educators can collaborate to help deliver the new National Plan For Music Education, how online content and digital education platforms are changing the way people learn and how traditional educators can work alongside digital educators to deliver value; what skills are needed in the music business today - and what skills will be in demand in the future.

Music + Deals will look at the deals market, identifying the deals that best help artists achieve their objectives, and how the evolution of consumption is informing deals around particular rights, what that evolution of consumption means for future digital deals; and how samples and interpolations are delivering new licensing opportunities for songwriters and publishers.

In Music + The Creator Economy speakers will dive into the Creator Economy, looking at the tools, platforms and services enabling collaboration and creation, the challenges and opportunities they present and what music makers can learn from the wider creator space to grow and monetise their fanbase.
