Preparation for The Great Escape is well underway and anticipation is at an all-time high with the festival just 3 days away. Soon, the streets of Brighton will be filled to the brim with bands and music fans alike - amidst this excitement, however, comes the news that one of our favourite bands has announced they will split ahead of their gig at TGE13.

Today The Great Escape HQ received the sad news that The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster has disbanded just days before they were due to bring the house down this Saturday at Coalition. According to a statement from the band, a shared musical common ground couldn't be found and they apologise for any disappointment caused by cancelling upcoming shows.

Whilst we grieve the loss of one of our favourite ever live acts along with music fans across the world, we are excited to announce that THE ALLAH-LAS will step in to perform another of their highly anticipated shows, doubling your odds of catching latest and greatest Californian export.

So, here's to The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster - we'll sure miss you! Now, back to loading amps, wiping down bars and getting that sun dance en masse back in motion - we'll see you there!
