A New Yorker of Puerto Rican descent, Joaquin "Joe' Claussell is one of the few people in the music industry to work on his own terms and thus has shaped his own destiny. Ploughing his own "spiritually conscious' furrow, you only have to meet him to realise that everything he does comes from the heart.

Claussell will be best known to many SuncéBeat attendees for his association with the Body & Soul events, the famous New York Sunday session he appeared at alongside expert record re-jigger Danny Krivit and Wave Music main man Francois K. The parties are now the stuff of legend, and the B&S crew are still in demand as guest record spinners all over the world.

The "deeper' minded member of the trio, Claussell literally bounces around the DJ booth, unafraid to work the EQ, as he spins a diverse mixture of music, where house and disco feature prominently.
