Ahead of his appearance at Sonisphere, Wilko Johnson is enjoying his biggest chart hit for nearly four decades. His latest album, Going Back Home, which he collaborated on with The Who's Roger Daltry is at number 3 in the album charts

The last time Wilko was part of a top ten album was in 1976 with his former band, Dr Feelgood.

Wilko revealed last year that he has pancreatic cancer, but has refused chemotherapy and says: "I've decided I'm going to carry on playing while I'm still fit to do so."

Before his chart hit, the legendary guitarist, was enjoying a higher profile due to his acting, rather than guitar playing, having appeared in Game of Thrones as mute executioner Ilyn Payne.
