Janet Willis of HellrideMusic recently conducted an interview with Ken Baluke of Sons of Otis. A few excerpts of the chat follow below:

Hellride Music: This has been a long time in the making due to my constant daily insanity? late but worth the wait. You guys have been around for a while now, and judging from your blog and my personal knowledge of daily bullshit, it's been a hell of a ride too, so what is it that keeps you guys going so strong? What happened with some of the label bullshit along the way?

Ken Baluke: Playing the music keeps us going. That?s what we do. we're not quitters. When we lost our drummer? I bought a drum machine. You just got to keep on keeping on. I'm sure it?ll come to an end one day cuz? I'm getting old. I don?t really want to get into the label crap? all I will say is that they?re all full of shit!! Nowadays you can pretty much do it all yourself, without a labels support, or lack of support.

Hellride Music: I see from your webpage that you guys are playing Roadburn this year, that?s awesome! Are there any future US shows in the works?

Ken: we've been waiting a long time to play Roadburn. They?ve asked us several times, but for one reason or another, we just couldn?t make it?. until now. we're doing 2 sets, one set will be of our newer tracks and the other will be Templeball in its entirety. I'm sure this will be a special event. We have nothing else planned as of now.
