Exclusive Interview With Dave Clarke About I Love Techno And His Music!

ILOVETECHNO: The event is something special (10.11.12) what is your favorite number (or number sequence) and why? Is it superstition?
Dave Clarke: "667, one better than the devil and a good delay figure for tempo in the low 130′s."

ILOVETECHNO: What do you do before you go on stage ?
Dave Clarke:  "I don't really have any particular thing, I get to the gig about 45 mins before and listen to the dj before me."

ILOVETECHNO: What are you doing at I Love Techno this year?
Dave Clarke: "DJing in the Red Room."

ILOVETECHNO: Who else are you looking forward to seeing at I Love Techno?
Dave Clarke: "I'll be mostly sticking around the Red Room, so everyone that I want to see is generally in that room."

ILOVETECHNO: What is your favourite techno track of all time?
Dave Clarke: "Way too difficult, maybe "Clear "by Cybotron."

ILOVETECHNO: What do you love about the I Love Techno festival? How does it compare to other festivals?
Dave Clarke: "The fact it has so many same sized rooms of about 6k capacity makes it feel very tribal in a good way, I think I have done this about 12 times now, so obviously I love coming back."

ILOVETECHNO: Best I Love Techno memory?
Dave Clarke: "Peter bringing me a white rabbit....he asked me what can he do to get me to play here I said ok a big stuffed white rabbit and then completely forgot about it, he turned up on stage with this hideous massive White Rabbit, that was quite funny."

ILOVETECHNO: What are your big tracks at the moment?
Dave Clarke: "Best to look at my chart on daveclarke.com."

ILOVETECHNO: What else have you got going on?
Dave Clarke: "Remixes that I did with Mr. Jones under the guise of Unsubscribe for Octave One, "Simplicity is Beauty', working on a new project with Bryan Black."

ILOVETECHNO: What are the first thoughts that come to your mind when you hear the word "Belgium"?
Dave Clarke: "Well being English that would be Stuart Hall Laughing "Here comes the Belgians" from Jeax Sans Frontier (aka "It's a Knockout"), but in reality it will be being signed to R&S in 1989 and having a long relationship with The Fuse club in Brussels."

ILOVETECHNO: What is techno, to you?
Dave Clarke: "Everyweek, every year."
