Born on a military base in West Germany, it seems things have never been dull for the dancehall DJ who turns 62 this June. Spanning decades, the veteran DJ has been spinning his selection of reggae tunes on air for longer than a lot of us have been alive, he's worked across countless radio stations, gaining recognition as an ambassador of reggae and dancehall music, as well as an MBE for his contribution and services to broadcasting!

After slots on Radio London, Capital FM and a 22 year spell at Kiss FM, Rodigan continued his exciting career with a move to BBC Radio 1Xtra after resigning from Kiss last year in protest of their "continued marginalisation of the reggae genre'. With his first show aired live last night, Rodigan could be heard dropping a selection of both cutting-edge reggae and classic old-school, allowing for two hours of soulful head bopping and grooving. Aside from radio work, his live sets have been in high demand and massively popular, with people travelling across the globe to catch some of his high energy party vibes.
