Remember a time before the Great Escape Festival 2012 because we can't. We ran a competition with those lovely people from the amazingly brilliant "Bleeding Heart Narrative' who went on to wow those who caught their set at Above Audio on the Friday of #TGE12. Here's some words about the competition and what happened next straight from the bands mouth as it were...


Thanks again to everybody who entered the Great Escape competition a couple of weeks back. Here's the results of the winning entries (and apologies for the delay - hard to chain yourself to the drawing board when it's this nice outside). For those who missed it the general idea was to name an animal and two other objects and then we'd pick 3 to draw. As it turns out, fulfilling my illustrative obligations was a bit like playing a game of random word association with a box of pens and pencils. Then again I'm not sure how/why any of these drawings would have come into being any other way. So below you have a Pelican with a Linoleum Fascinator (suggestion of Danny James) a Sloth playing a Guitar in a bowl of Ramen (thanks Daniel Schmidt) and a Lynx in a Rocking Chair with a Slice of Humble Pie (courtesy of Katie Houghton). The Lynx was given the slice of humble pie but elected not to eat it. Lynxes are like that...

The first three competition winners win the original drawing based on their entry by Oliver Barrett. They also get a free copy of the bands' latest EP "Bison."
