Like a lot of the bands on the bill that have played Sonisphere in the past, The Hype Theory are "stoked" to be returning to Knebworth. The Hype Theory last played the Red Bull Stage at Sonisphere in 2011, but are planning something different for the fans this year.

"We're trying to plan something different, but don't know what to do yet, so are open to suggestions," says singer Katie Jackson. "We'll play loads of news songs, but we want to try and do something cool and special for Sonisphere. We were talking about elephants taking selfies. Or we have Huskies in our music video so we were thinking of releasing a whole load of Huskies on stage.

"Let's face it if Iron Maiden are doing an air show we are going to have to up our game and at least come up with a dance routine or something."

The band are also looking forward to catching some of the other acts over the weekend.

"I can't wait to see Limp Bizkit and I want to see The Prodigy as well as they're from Braintree, which is the next town up from where I'm from and they're like a homegrown massive band," says Katy. "Every time I see them I think oh yes there's hope that something good can come from Essex, so yes I want to see them."

Further down the bill she says:

"You've got to watch Itch. We toured with him and he's amazing. A really controversial rapper. It's different, but he's so good at what he does and his band are amazing. Then there's Silverstein and our label mates Palm Reader."

As experienced festival-goers Katy recommends you "always use protection" and take sun cream, baby wipes and "some sort of mobile charging device you can carry around with you." Guitarist Tommy Harrison has a slightly different take on festivals:

"I always try and take something to boil water, so I can have Pot Noodles, tea or anything that requires boiling water."
