Having announced our Wrestling Fancy Dress Theme for this year we thought we'd take a look back at some our favourite fancy dress outfits from Sonispheres gone by.

1. The Smurfs

In 2010 the fancy dress theme was actually "Rocky Horror Show', but this didn't stop the group turning up as a bunch of smurfs and stealing the show.

2. Bananaman And Ironman

These guys were a year ahead of us. "The Superheroes' theme was in 2011, but they turned up in their superhero outfits in 2010.

3. Mystique And Harley Quinn

Now these girls got the right year with some eye-catching costumes. This pic has a lot of Facebook likes. I wonder why? (Check out the guys beind them trying to find the girls' profiles on Tinder)

4. Super Mario Bros

We know "Super' is in their name, but do Mario Bros count as Superheroes?

5. The Bosses

Two of these guys run the festival and one of them is the manager of one of the major acts playing Sonisphere 2014. Anyway, nice to see them embracing the space theme back in 2009.

6. The Stormtroopers

There may be debate over whether Stormtroopers are robots or humans, but they're definitely not Superheroes.  Still, didn't stop these guys dressing up as them in 2011 for the Superhero theme, also Siths are hot.

7. Chewbacca

Okay, not the most-authentic Chewbacca in the world and certainly one of the least hairy, but boy did this Chewie know how to party!!

8. The Hulk

His Hulk outfit was worse than his Sonisphere spinning skills, which were very impressive.

9. The Smurf Superheroes

If it ain't broke, why fix it? Here this crew took their Smurf outfits and customised so they were like a pseudo Justice League Of Smurfs. Looking forward to seeing them in their wrestling outfits over the top of their Smurf get-up this summer.

10. The Mexican Wrestlers

And finally the visionaries. Back in 2011, they were wearing costumes that would go down a treat this summer with our Wrestling Theme.
