Another 12 bands have joined the bill as we put Day Tickets on sale and announce the Day Splits of who is playing on which day.

Making their Sonisphere debut are bluesy, ballsy, indie rockers, Band Of Skulls, while the industrial rock powerhouse and massively influential Gary Numan makes his return to Knebworth in support of his acclaimed new album Splinter. Although also expect to hear hits like "Cars' and "Down In The Park'.

Legendary British metallers Carcass are also set to play with bassist and vocalist Jeff Walker, saying: "Nevermind the fact that Bill Steer (guitar) is a BIG Chas & Dave fan - "A chance to play on the same day as IRON MAIDEN at Sonisphere? Please sign us up!"

There are more Sonisphere debutants in the form of post-punk heroes New Model Army, hardcore punk outfit The Bronx and The Winery Dogs, featuring ex-members of Poison, Mr Big and Dream Theater. "This will be The Winery Dogs' premiere festival performance and it couldn't have been at a better one than this!" says drummer Mike Portnoy.

The Bronx are just as excited, saying:

"Congratulations England. After years of angry letters and crude protests, the Bronx will finally be exposing itself at Sonisphere 2014.  Take the necessary measures to ensure you don't fucking miss it. We love you. God save the Queen."

No strangers to Sonisphere, Watford punks Gallows will be showcasing new material at the festival, alongside fan favourites. Prog math and electronic experimentalists 65daysofstatic are also looking forward to playing for the Sonisphere crowd:

"The best thing about all those people who like rock music and allow festivals like Sonisphere to thrive are that they usually have no preconceptions and are open to all other types of music too," says guitarist Paul Wolinski.

Sebastian Bach is also promising a show to remember, with songs from both his solo career, as well as Skid Row hits like "Youth Gone Wild', "Monkey Business' and "Slave To The Grind'.

Chiodos return to the UK, fresh from laying waste to Alexandra Palace at last winter's Vans Warped Tour, while Bam Margera's Fuckface Unstoppable is likely to be one fo the most chaotic and unpredictable of the weekend. As the frontman (who's led one of the craziest lives ever documented) says: "Thanks for inviting me to your party Sonisphere, I'll be happy to throw gas on your fire. Uh, I mean petrol."

The new additions are rounded out by legendary punks Anti-Nowhere League, aggressive rockers Little Matador (who've recently toured with Nine Inch Nail and Queens Of The Stone Age) and The Lounge Kittens. The latter were brought to Sonisphere's attention by Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst. They are a Southampton-based trio, singing beautiful three-part harmonies over all your favourite songs, like this cover of "Rollin'.
