As the anticipation mounts for this weekend's upcoming Big 4 shows at Sonisphere UK and France, the Big 4 have landed in Europe, and already gave 2 killer performances in Germany and Sweden. Both shows were sold out and the audiences definitely were delivered with a special one day show by the Big 4.

The Big 4 played Velcins Arena in Gelsenkirchen in Germany on Saturday July 2 and in Sweden Sunday July 3, at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg. In Sweden, Lou Reed was also at the show and seen hanging out with Metallica after recently announcing they have completed work on a collaboration album

Metallica, are set to headline Sonisphere Festivals this Friday in Knebworth, England and Saturday in Amneville, France and have given a strong indication of what their set list will feature after these shows in Germany and Sweden. Their setlist for both performances was comprised of material from "The Black Album' and the band's early albums. They played just two songs that came from the past 20 years, "All Nightmare Long' and "The Memory Remains'. The Metallica stage production is of course nothing less than first class entertainment, with TV screens so big you wonder... how do they do that?

Both performances included an encore that featured members of Megadeth and Anthrax performing a Diamond Head cover. They played "Helpless' on Saturday and "Am I Evil?' on Sunday. Diamond Head are also on the bill at both Sonisphere Festivals in the UK and France, suggesting they may perform with the band during this part of the set.

In Sweden fans were even more lucky as the entire Big 4 concert was broadcast live on national television. The Metallica concert also received a 5/5 review from the national newspaper Aftonbladet as even the reviewer said.. "I'm speechless at times... in between tears, goose bumps and want to throw my computer and jump into the crowd." If you can read Swedish... HERE IS THE REVIEW IN FULL.
