Next Friday October 21st, at the Apolo, there will be an impressive double-bill concert by Health, the experimental rock band from Los Ángeles, and the illustrator and musician Jeffrey Lewis, with his band The Junkyard.

Health started in 2005 on the scene that used to meet in the L.A venue - The Smell, it was the same scene that gave rise to bands like No Age and Mika Miko.  Until now they have released two studio albums, as well as two records with remixes of their songs. But it is at their extraordinary live performances, where the noise, dance music and drones come together through unstoppable rhythms, that you really appreciate the full potential of this noise rock machine. 

Jeffrey Lewis is a New Yorker who can't decide between comics and music, although in his shows he has managed to include both. Settled in what became known as anti folk (together with artists like The Moldy Peaches and Only Son), in 2001 he signed with the label Rough Trade, on which he has released five albums. Among them  "12 Crass Songs", where he does a cover of the mythical British anarcho-punk band, and "Em Are I", a brilliant record that combines folk, punk, psychedelia and lively pop, really stand out.
