The Indian sitar master just passed away at age 92. Ravi Shankar became famous in the sixties, working with great artists such as The Beatles or Yehudi Menuhin. Throughout his whole life as an artist, he widely influenced rock music.
In 1969, amongst many of his achievements, he performed for 500,000 people in Woodstock, NY. In 2005, he played a memorable concert at the 30th Paléo, sitting on a wonderful carpet, taking the audience with him on a trip through the history of Indian traditional music.
Rest in peace.
