Forerunners of electronic rock, Flaming Lips, will close Iceland Airwaves 2014. Flaming Lips have been giving us their quirky lyrics and psychedelic sound since the late eighties. They are acclaimed for their elaborate live shows, which have featured costumes, balloons, puppets, video projections, complex stage light configurations, giant hands, large amounts of confetti, and frontman Wayne Coyne's signature man-sized plastic bubble, in which he traverses the audience. Q Magazine named Flaming Lips one of the "50 Bands to See Before You Die."Flaming lips will close Iceland Airwaves 2014 on Sunday November 9 at Valur Sports Hall (Vodafone Hall). Please note that a second headliner for this show will be announced shortly.

A limited amount of tickets for the closing show with Flaming Lips is on sale now on midi.is for 8900 ISK. However, an additional 2200 tickets will be available for Iceland Airwaves ticket holders. Tickets will be handed out on Friday November 7 at noon at Harpa on a first-come-first-served basis. One wristband = One final show ticket.
