Expo: "the Art Of The Obsessions Collective'

From 21 June to 28 July Gent Jazz Festival and the Liedts-Meesen Foundation will present the work of the "Obsessions Collective' in Gent. Zebrastraat will be the first in Europe to bring the work of the collective created by John Zorn.

Curator Dany Vandenbossche made a great selection of works which include photography, painting, computer art and even video installations. The exhibition features works by Scott Irvine, Ashley Thayer, John McVicker, Beatrice Glow, Kate Manheim, Michael Macioce, Bea Lim, Madeline von Foerster, Kyung Jeon, Heung-Heung Chin, Mark Seindenfeld and Zaria Forman. These professional artist work non-commercially and are not well known here. The fans of John Zorn might know the works of Heung-Heung Chin, she made the album covers of The Dreamers.

This exhibition is an extra part of "Zorn at 60'. The festive program for the sixtieth birthday of multi-talented composer and saxophonist John Zorn on 14 July at Gent Jazz Festival. On that day, before the official start of the festival, guitarist James Moore will perform the first part of "The Book of Heads' in the Zebrastraat. He will perform the second part later that day on the stage of the Gent Jazz Festival.

Holders of a Gent Jazz Festival ticket can visit the exhibition for free! Others pay a symbolic contribution of 2,5 euro at the door.
