Wir haben beim Freedom Sounds Festival schon öfter gedacht, warum sind die noch nicht groß rausgekommen und spielen in viel größeren Hallen? Der Auftritt von Stone Foundation beim Festival 2015 gehörte ganz sicher zu diesen Momenten.
Offenbar waren wir nicht die einzigen, die das hören konnten, denn niemand anderes als Paul Weller höchstpersönlich kontaktierte die Band, um ihr ein gemeinsames Projekt vorzuschlagen. Am 31. 03. ist es soweit: Das Album "Street Rituals" erscheint. Der Modafther hat an allen Stücken mitgewirkt, zwei mitgeschrieben und singt bei einem sogar Lead Vocals. Ebenfalls an Bord: die beiden Soul-Legenden Bettye LaVette und William Bell.
Stone Foundation stehen also vor dem Schritt auf die ganz großen Bühnen. Umso mehr freuen wir uns, dass die Jungs vorher noch einmal bei uns vorbeischauen und ihr neues Album live präsentieren werden. Willkommen zurück, Freunde!

We love it when our friends become successful. Over the years we have witnessed quite a few acts and thought: Everybody should know this band. Why don't they play much larger venues? The show Stone Foundation played at Freedom Sounds 2015 was definitely one such moment.
Fast forward two years and it is happening: Stone Foundation have just recorded their new album together with no other by Modfather Paul Weller himself, who contacted the band, suggested a cooperation, invited them to his studio and ended up playing on all tracks, singing lead vocals on one. American Soul legends Betty LaVette and William Bell also contributed to "Street Rituals", which will be released on 31st March.
The record is bound to take the band onto much bigger stages. Needless to say, we are over the moon that one of the finest and most promising modern soul bands will premiere this new album live at Freedom Sounds Festival 2017. Welcome back, friends!
