We’re very happy to add another 17 bands to the Dour Festival 09 line-up. Dour Festival is 4 days of non stop music on 6 stages from July 16th until the 19th.

Electro/IDM/Dubstep/Drum’n'Bass/Electropunk stages

We already have a strong line-up with the confirmation of Aphex Twin + Hecker, Venetian Snares, Digitalism dj set, Crystal Castles, Chase & Status, Andy C & Mc GQ, Mixhell live, N-Type, Kap Bambino, The Proxy, Thunderheist, Dusty Kid as well as Does It Offend You, Yeah?

Today we’re proud to also confirm:

• A Mad Decent Soundsystem night. It’s the label fronted by Diplo, DJ-producer from Piladelphia whose work with M.I.A. has made him star! Diplo won’t play alone, he will bring his friends along - we’ll be treated to the heavy beats of Boy 8 Bit, Rusko’s dubstep (live) and Drop the Lime’s dubstep/breakcore.
• Don Rimini has been hailed as the new Crookers and you’ll be able to judge it for yourself as he’ll play alongside Thunderheist, Kap Bambino and Mixhell for one hell of a Dour night!
• Noisia will play on our Drum’n'Bass stage with de Chase & Status and Andy C amongst others.
• Now if your thing is electro jazz with hints of manouche music, you’re in for a treat thanks to Caravan Palace

Rock/Pop-Rock/Metal stages:

We have already confirmed Mercury Rev, Caribou, Bob Log III, Deerhoof, O’Death and Papa Dada. 7 more bands have been added to that line-up:

• The 20 members of Swedish band I’m From Barcelona will bring their special brand of party music at Dour
• We’ll also have some folk made in Quebec: Pascale Picard and her huge hit Gate 22 will resonate on the Dour hills
• The post-math-rock genre will also be represented at Dour this summer thanks to 65daysofstatic
• In the same energetic category as The Hives, Londoners The Jim Jones Revue is our coup de cur. Beware as they may very well suck you in !
• A real legend has also confirmed its participation at Dour Fest this year: Gong. Since their beginnings in 1967, Gong has been one of the most intriguing rock band ever. Their flavour of psychedelic rock transport the audience in another state of consciousness thanks to naïve melodies and hypnotic rythms.
• We’ve missed them since their last appearance at Dour in 2005 and they’re back on 2009: Killing Joke will play on our post-punk/new wave stage.
• If you love extreme metal you’ll be pleased to know that Gojira will be back at Dour this year.

Hip-Hop/Rap stage

MixMaster Mike [Beastie Boys], Muggs [Cypress Hill], DJ JS-1 [Rock Steady Crew], Mr Wiggles [Rock Steady Crew], Rahzel [The Roots] and IAM are all confirmed and we have some extra names for you:

• Craze and Klever on 4 turntables
  These two are probably the best Dj on Earth. They have mixed thousands of beats and won at DMC many times. They present an eclectic show where anything can happen. You’d better be ready!
• Roots Manuva will be back with their sunny blend of Hip-hop.
• Kery James, a big name in French hip-hop will be at Dour to present his new album.
