We have received some Sónar 2012 artists' messages telling us what they have in mind for their performances at the festival.

This is what they told us, in their own words:

Mouse On Mars

"We're very much looking forward to bring Parastrophics to Sónar. So far our tour is going super well and we'll try to screw it up even a bit more in Barcelona. We still need to know where to get the best cortado (recommendations please) and find grilled aspargus. We'll meet old music friends who we rarely see, meet new people and hopefully discover some new music, too"
Mouse On Mars. Friday 15th,19h. SonarHall.

Trevor Jackson

I certainly don't have a club/dancefloor set in mind at all, if anything will be a very diverse mix of everything i'm into made specially for the sun. Probably quite strange also, really don't want to play anything anyone else will be playing. Not a metal dance set either. You know, I like loads of different things. Looking forward to it . See you soon

Peaking Lights

"Really excited for sonar fest this year!!! We're playing a handful of new material and a couple old songs. Since recording our new record we've started playing with more dub elements, more focus on tripping out the  live mixes and a new stripped down setup with more delays and home made filters"
Peaking Lights. Friday 15th, 21h. SonarComplex.

The 2 Bears

"We're looking forward to opening up the SonarPub on Saturday night. I don't think 2 Bears have ever played such a big stage before. We've both been to Sónar many times and can't wait to get our hands on the soundsystem in that enormous rave-o-drome. The Roots are on after us too so we may well dig out some old hip hop bangers to finish the set"
The 2 Bears. Saturday 16th, 22h. SonarPub.

Mary Anne Hobbs (& Blawan)

"Blawan is my favourite artist on earth right now... he makes music that sounds like it was built in the blows of a lurching pirate ship in the 17th Century. I have no idea what Blawan is planning for Barcelona... However, I have built the darkest and most intense set I've ever played at Sónar in response to what I anticipate he will do. Shaun Bloodworth, legendary Sheffield based photographer and film maker is creating our visuals"
Mary Anne Hobbs b2b Blawan. Saturday 16th, 02.30h. SonarPub.
