 Laughter is no stranger to Pukkelpop. The Wablief?! Tent will be back this year, opening its doors for comedy every day of the festival. The programme includes: Adriaan Van den Hoof, Bart Cannaerts, Han Solo, Katinka Polderman and Nigel Williams, with Henk Rijckaert as host/presenter on all three days. On Thursday 18 August, we’ll be setting out with Begijn Le Bleu in search of the fragile balance between laughter and tragedy. Dutch comic Katinka Polderman adds her commentary on life with light-hearted, cynical songs, while Thomas Smith alternates sarcastically humorous observations with hilarious outbursts and loads of fantastic jokes. On Friday 19 August, Henk Rijckaert will be introducing Veerle Malschaert, drama queen on speed, big-hearted, loud-mouthed and pumped up on too much testosterone, before Jeroen Leenders unleashes his wicked wit and dangerous sense of humour on the audience. If you prefer your comedy to have a rougher edge, Nigel Williams can be expected to conclude the Friday comedy show with tons of improvisation, freewheeling and a healthy dose of audience participation. On Saturday 20 August, we will be welcoming Han Solo, the extreme-right alter ego of stand-up comedian Han Coucke. Bart Cannaerts will be familiar from TV shows like De Slimste Mens, De Pappenheimers, De Laatste Show and Mag Ik U Kussen (where he introduced such personalities as Showbizz). Adriaan Van den Hoof wraps up the line-up with a glimpse into his perspective on the comic world of organised chaos. Expect tall tales, anecdotes, nostalgia, common sense and incredible nonsense.
