Mancunian duo Hurts (pictured) have been confimred for the Live at Leeds all dayer on saturday 1st May along with Oldham’s finest Twisted Wheel.

Hurts have spent the last year moving regularly from suburb to suburb, spending time in Broughton, Rusholme and Bellevue, as well as Berlin. A mystery surrounds them both.

Expect self-assured, epic balladeering. The music is spacious, confident and connected to joy. There's a sense that Hurts have an open, intrigued and uncomplicated relationship with contemporary music. They've engaged with songwriting in an unbiased and unrestricted way. It's refreshing, unguarded. It's not ravaged by cool and there's no genre-splicing gimmick here. The statement of Hurts is an emotional one.

Twisted Wheel are one of the most exciting young British guitar bands to emerge in recent years. . With a fan club including Noel & Liam Gallagher (how often do they agree on anything?), Paul Weller, Shaun Ryder, Ian Brown, Kasabian, they've been attracting the attention of the great and the good from their earliest incarnation.
In Dec 2009 PRS ( Perfoming Rights Society ) quoted Twisted Wheel as the second most hard working band in the country. This was based on the total number of live gigs the band played over the previous 12 months.
With no major radio support to date Twisted Wheel have managed to build a massive loyal following simply by playing live and in the long term this is the best way forward.
