We at Iceland Airwaves are no strangers to inclement weather, and we've been keeping tabs on Hurricane Sandy as she encroaches on the States' eastern seaboard. We just got this announcement from Icelandair: "Due to hurricane Sandy and closure of JFK airport Icelandair have to cancel both flights from Iceland to JFK tomorrow Oct 29 ( FI-615 and FI-617 ) and return flights from JFK to Iceland (FI-614 and FI-616 ). We are planning a rescue flight on Wednesday (FI-617 to JFK and F-616 to KEF ). Passengers are asked to contact Icelandair for rebooking." As the festival gets closer, we're hoping the coast will stay clear and our bands and fans coming from the stateside will arrive timely and safely. We want you here, come hell or highwater!
