ILOVETECHNO: The event is something special (10.11.12). What is your favorite number (or number sequence) and why? Is it superstition?
Modeselektor:  "On this date only great things can happen! It's a nice sequence ... For all illuminates: the cross sum is 6, so all good then. Every January 1st (1.1.) is a magic day, a start into something new ..."

ILOVETECHNO: What do you do before you go on stage ?
Modeselektor:  "Well, it probably doesn't sound really exciting, but we are really just sitting backstage and relax. Hang out with our crew ... A show is always pretty heavy physical & mental work: You communicate with people, you constantly move around ... And it's really hot on stage ..."

ILOVETECHNO: What are you doing at I Love Techno this year?
Modeselektor: "We'll play our "Monkeytown" show. It's an audio-visual show created by Pfadfinderei, who will also VJ live then."

ILOVETECHNO: Who else are you looking forward to seeing at I Love Techno?
Modeselektor: "We are looking forward to Boysnoize, SCNTST, TNGHT, Jamie xx and Martyn. Will be a blast!"

ILOVETECHNO: What is your favourite techno track of all time?
Modeselektor: "Underground resistance - Sonic destroyer 1991"

ILOVETECHNO: What do you love about the I Love Techno festival? How does it compare to other festivals?
Modeselektor: "Can't really say - it's the first time for us at I Love Techno ... But since the festival already excists since 1995, it definitely has a meaning / importance ... And Belgium - we love Belgium!"

ILOVETECHNO: Best I Love Techno memory?
Modeselektor: "I have lost my memory"

ILOVETECHNO: What are your big tracks at the moment?
Modeselektor: "We always listen to old and new stuff. You always discover something new even if it's already old. Our highlight this year: "Planetary Assault Systems - The Messenger" Techno ..."

ILOVETECHNO: Do you have any favourite new artists to look out for?
Modeselektor: "Bambounou, a very young producer from Paris - check him out!"

ILOVETECHNO: What else have you got going on?
Modeselektor: "Bambounou's debut album on 50WEAPONS, new singles by Addison Groove and Benjamin Damage on 50WEAPONS, a new album by Anstam .... And a mini album by Mouse on Mars on Monkeytown Records. And we ourselves are currently in the studio and record new Moderat material."

ILOVETECHNO: What are the first thoughts that come to your mind when you hear the word "Belgium"?
Modeselektor: "Chocolate, Atomium, NATO, Zaventem airport and the gold old SABENA. And the Belgium flag is pretty similar to the German one ...."

ILOVETECHNO: What is techno, to you?
Modeselektor: "The reason why Modeselektor actually exists!"
