Here is some advice to help make your journey home from the Festival as smooth as possible. This page will be updated throughout 27 June.

As of 9am, around half the cars had left the site & exits are flowing well. There are some queues to reach exits, so please be patient.

LEAVE NO TRACE

Please take everything home with you. Remember, Michael Eavis wouldn't discard his tent in your garden. If you wish to donate your fully-packed tent or non-perishable food see a campsite steward.

PLAN YOUR EXIT

Be aware of your alcohol consumption, so that you're in a fit state to drive.

DRIVING BUT NOT IN A HURRY? WAIT A WHILE

If you're parked in the car parks but not in a hurry to get home, you are welcome to stick around until mid-afternoon on Monday and enjoy the site while the car traffic eases. Markets will be open and services provided.

GETTING HOME BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT? TRAVEL AS PLANNED

If you're travelling by coach or train, please head home as planned. The festival coach station and shuttle buses will be running as normal.

BE PREPARED

There are likely to be some delays leaving the site. Go to the toilet before you set off. Have drinks, snacks and any essential medication with you.

TOWING

If your vehicle has a towing eye, please attach this ready for possible towing (see your handbook - but it's usually near your spare tyre and can be screwed into the front bumper). Also, please note that all towing out of Glastonbury car parks is free of charge. If someone tells you otherwise, please contact a traffic officer.

CAMPERVAN EXIT

If you are leaving from the campervan / caravan fields, please make sure you have your tow eye attached ready to set off (see your handbook). Tractors and tow crews will be on hand to help those who need assistance getting off site. Please notify a steward if you need help, and be patient whilst the tractor crews help others, as this will help them get to you sooner. The Bath & West showground is now drop-off and exit only.

FOLLOW TRAFFIC OFFICERS' INSTRUCTIONS

Follow our team's directions, and you will get off site as quickly as possible. When driving, try to get into second gear, to avoid wheelspins.

STAY INFORMED

Tune in to Worthy FM on 87.7FM on your vehicle's radio and follow @glastoinfo and @policeatglasto on Twitter for the latest traffic updates.

PLEASE BE PATIENT & FRIENDLY

Help each other out as you try to leave the site. And remember that the hundreds of staff assisting tens of thousands of cars with their departures really are doing their best to get you home.

ONCE YOU'RE OFF SITE

As you leave, please ignore satnav and follow traffic officers' instructions, even if this means not going in your desired direction to begin with. This is in order to make your journey quicker and safer. Do not U-turn and drive back past the car parks.

THANK YOU FOR COMING

We wish you a safe and uneventful journey home.
