FutureEverything 2012 Conference

This year's conference looks at the new participatory culture that is changing our world. We see profound changes in the digital and creative sector, as well as in society at large. The conference presents the the future-thinkers who enable us to see the possibilities of such connectivity.

The FutureEverything Conference also hosts a celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Mass Observation Movement and the UN International Year of Co-operatives - presented with a unique contemporary twist by artists and designers working in these new media.

This year's headline speaker is Birgitta Jónsdóttir, the Icelandic MP, activist, artist and spokesperson who was an active volunteer for Wikileaks and has advocated making Iceland a haven for press freedom. She will discuss her involvement in the Icelandic Modern Media Initiative, crowd-sourcing the new constitution and experimentation in direct democracy in Iceland.

Three of our keynote speakers (Carlo Ratti, Rohan Gunatillake and César A. Hidalgo) are from Wired Magazine's The Smart List 2012: 50 People Who Will Change The World.

Additional speakers include Bilal Randeree (Al Jazeera English), Juha van"t Zelfde, Juliana Rotich and more to be announced.

Other confirmed speakers and panelists are Andy Miah, Farida Vis, Laura Harper, Dr. Ian Brown, Loz Kaye, Fiona Courage (Mass Observation Archive), Moritz Stefaner, William Heath, Jeremy Newman, Ed Vaizey MP, Rufus Pollock, Bill Thompson, The John Peel Centre, DIYBio, Adrian Hon, Sanaz Raji, and Animal Systems.

As always, the conference brings together the latest debate and visionary ideas from around the world to present timely, inspiring and sometimes provocative views on the latest developments in digital culture.
