Mit den Resonators präsentieren wir euch mal wieder was ganz Exklusives, denn die Band aus Brighton wird zum ersten Mal auf einer deutschen Bühne zu erleben sein. Ihr Sound steht in der Tradition von klassischem Roots Reggae, Dub, aber auch englischer Soundsystem Kultur. Eindringlich, melancholisch, soulful, manchmal hypnotisch - all diese Adjektive treffen zu. Sie wurden schon mit Misty In Roots oder auch Björk verglichen. Es ist also unmöglich, sie in eine Schublade zu stecken. Unter anderem deswegen lieben wir die Resonators.
Die Stimmen der beiden Frontfrauen Faye Houston and Kassia Zermon ergeben spannende Kontraste, nur um im nächsten Moment zu wunderschönen Harmonien zu verschmelzen. Live profitieren die Resonators davon, dass das Line-up der Band seit mehreren Jahren und drei Alben stabil und somit blind aufeinander eingespielt ist. Ihr zweites Album "The Constant" heimste 2012 europaweit erstklassige Rezensionen ein. Kürzlich erschien mit "Imaginary People" das dritte Werk, das vielleicht sogar noch eine Spur zwingender und souliger geraten ist. Umso mehr freuen wir uns, die Resonators nach Deutschland und auf die Bühne des Freedom Sounds Festivals holen zu können!

Brighton-based nine piece reggae band Resonators have been making waves on the European underground for almost a decade. 2016 sees them release their third album ‚Imaginary People", described as "nine tracks of beautifully crafted, exquisite roots reggae".
At times haunting and melancholy, smattered with sweet and soulful cuts, Resonators create an original sound influenced by classic roots reggae, UK sound system culture and a diverse musical background. Drawing on the collective input of its nine members Resonators deliver a sound that is both familiar and unique, with comparisons ranging from Misty in Roots to Bjork.
This Dub-Reggae band is set apart by the two striking front women Faye Houston and Kassia Zermon and live dub engineer Darren ‚Jamtone" Mathers. Houston and Zermon's voices contrast beautifully with the ability to melt into one when singing soaring harmonies. Mathers pays respect to dub traditions, with lashings of effects sitting subtly on the records, while raucous and all-encompassing live.
With the line-up having remained the same for so long the band radiate a playful and unified stage presence, complete with horn section, backing vocals and live effects the resulting energy is infectious and second to none.
We are very glad to present them live in Germany for the very first time.
