Today, the highlights of Dour Festival according to Colin Roberts (Big Life Management). Check our blog to find out what some music professional recommend you to see at this year’s festival. Sky Larkin Having already produced one of my songs of the Summer in ‘Antibodies’ and with an ear for a melody that lays hearts to waste, there’s no doubt that seeing them in the glorious surroundings of Dour will be anything but majestic. Sepultura Those closet to me will be aware of how much I enjoy breaking into the chorus of ‘Refuse/Resist’ at the drop of a hat, so it goes without saying that this metal tour de force will be on my list of acts I’m excited to catch. Quite simply one of the most brutal bands in the world. Still! DAT Politics I went through a period where all I listened to was completely insane electronic records, a lot on ADADAAT and labels like that. I’ve left a lot of that behind now but I’ll always have time for DAT Politics; my reaction to their performance will be the same as it always is. Completely ridiculous dancing and a grin the size of Belgium. …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead A couple of years ago at this very festival, I had an epiphany whilst watching …Trail of Dead. It had been one of the hottest days of my life and as I cooled down and drifted into that glorious all-day drinking bubble that only get at a festival, these Texans were on stage, as reliably raucous and glee-inducing as ever. They will always remain an absolutely essential live band. Fuck Buttons Festivals are all about ‘moments’ for a lot of people. If anyone can provide the required euphoria, noise and excitement to create one of those for me, it has to be Fuck Buttons. Having spent a lot of the Winter writing new material, I can’t wait. I really can’t wait. It was Colin Roberts‘ highlights for the Dour Festival (Big Life Management). |
