Das Wacken Open Air ist das wohl bekannteste und Größte Metal Open Air Festival und feiert 2009 20. Jubiläum. Geboten werden zahlreiche Bands auf mehreren Bühnen und ein Rahmenprogramm. Shuttlebusse fahren von Itzehoe und Hamburg zum Festivalgelände. Camping ist möglich.
