Whilst the core music programme is still to be revealed, today we announce the four strands that will form the core of this year's convention which runs alongside the showcases and attracts over 3000 industry delegates. This year the focus will be put on four important areas of the business through full-day convention strands:: "Music Licensing - Explained At Last!', 'Music Marketing Is Broken - Let's Fix It', "How To Sell Out Gracefully - Better Brand Partnerships' and "What's The Point Of A Record Label Anyway?'

The team from CMU Insights will this year curate four full-day strands at the heart of The Great Escape Convention. Educational and enlightening, each strand will be packed with case studies, original research and debate, delving into some of the key issues the music business faces in 2015.

MUSIC LICENSING - EXPLAINED AT LAST: Find out once and for all how each kind of digital music platform is being licensed, and how revenues are being divided between labels, publishers, songwriters and artists. Is the split between different stakeholders fair and sustainable? We'll explain why many songwriters and publishers would resolutely argue "no".

MUSIC MARKETING IS BROKEN - LET'S FIX IT: In the streaming age do traditional album campaigns make sense? What really drives streams on key platforms? What should labels do to achieve maximum play? Are playlist owners the new opinion formers? And if so, how do playlists find an audience, and when should labels engage? The experts reveal all.

HOW TO SELL OUT GRACEFULLY - BETTER BRAND PARTNERSHIPS: Everyone wants some brand cash, but what deals really deliver and what keeps partners on board long-term? We'll look at brand alliances with both artists and festivals to assess current trends and best practice.
Plus how do sync deals work and what can you do when a brand steals your ideas?

WHAT'S THE POINT OF A RECORD LABEL ANYWAY? The death of the record company has long been predicted, yet the labels aren't going anywhere. New artists in particular still arguably need label partners, but to what end and on what terms? As service providers, business partners or something else? And are multi-revenue stream deals really achieving their potential? Join the debate.

In addition to the four strands presented by CMU Insights, delegates at The Great Escape will also have access to a series of informative panels hosted by our industry partners, one-on-one meetings as part of our networking programme, and plenty of informal networking opportunities during our series of delegate parties and receptions.
