Yoga is a system of physical, mental and spiritual development which originated in India at least 3000 years ago. The word Yoga comes from a Sanskrit word meaning "union" of mind, body and soul and can provide perfect harmony and balance. Hatha Yoga is a general name for all physical forms of yoga and it consists of Asana (body postures), Pranayama (breathing exercises) and deep relaxation.

There will be a 3 day yoga workshop for the beginners, price £20 or drop in £8 per class. Classes will run in the morning from 9-10:15 before the music kicks off.

  1. Day one: focusing on the anatomy of our feet which provide stability, support and mobility for our bodies with the intention to establish a good foundation of each pose to help us feel more grounded and stable, as with the stable body we develop stability of mind.
  2. Day two: focus is on breathing inquiries to help us become more aware of our own breathing patterns. The intention is to use imagination to help us connect with our breath to develop the inner awareness and lightness of movement.
  3. Day three: focusing on exploring our core, the center of our stability from which all movement begins. This will allow our bodies to create a sense of wholeness and balance extending the poses from the core to periphery in a deep and connected way.
