"I've been singing since I was a child. As an only child, one of the things I loved doing was imitating songs I loved on the radio and making up tunes of my own to entertain myself. It's weird knowing I've been improvising stuff for that long! Once I'd completed high school in 2004 my professional journey began as the lead vocalist for a local Miami jazz fusion band. Since then I'd also met my d&b soul friends who brought me on board: Shouts to Stereotype, Bassdrive.com and everyone from the Laundry Bar days! Those moments led me to meet many of the biggest names in d&b (What's goody Bailey & Asides! ::waves:: lol) and it was through that networking and learning to record myself that I've been able to work with the producers that I have done. It has been, and continues to be, a pleasure creating with so many talented people who love the complex beats and heavy basslines that we do!"

Q. From your perspective, how have things changed for womxn in the drumandbass community in recent years?

A. It's been really inspiring to witness the recent rise, and coming together of, more womxn within the drum and bass community. With collectives such as EQ50, Dynamics database and blog, DNB Girls of America, Hospital Women In D&B and Metamorphosis Womxn in D&B (plus many others) it's clear that people have been more willing to come together to push for change.

I do hope that these collectives and movements will continue to enable more womxn and non-binary folk to get involved with the scene. Both behind the scenes as well as creatively.

Q. 2020 has been a tough year for a lot of us, has it affected your creative output in any way?
A. With all of the challenges this year it's been admittedly difficult to keep creatively inspired and recording. Having a number of tunes that I've been working on finally released has been a part of the silver lining I've sought out when reflecting on how mad this year has been.
I've learned to focus far more on my mental health and well being. I've also found my way back into editorial writing. I'm now an editor for the Dynamics database and blog and have also written for an e-magazine named Balance Wellbeing and Creativity.

I've got "Perfect Summer" which is a collab between Mr Joseph, Illmatika and myself forthcoming on Liquid V December 2nd. There's a special music video we thankfully managed to accomplish to go with the release, so be sure to catch that!

I'm also wrapping up a special mix for EQ50 and have a few more forthcoming releases in the works so be sure to follow me and stay tuned for all of that.
