Stop Making Sense are super chuffed to have yoga on site this year! After a strenuous night of excessive fun, there'll be a time to relax and find a little zen time on Croatia's picturesque shoreline. Violeta Misic lives in London and devotes her summers to teaching yoga. She began studying yoga during her drama and dance training in 1994 and completed yoga teacher training at Triyoga, London and is teaching at the University of Westminster where she is being awarded BSc degree in Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture. Violeta's style of teaching focuses on the alignment based Hatha yoga, core stability, gentle flowing movements and developing awareness of Qi or breath. Basically, she knows her stuff. Yoga is a system of physical, mental and spiritual development which originated in India at least 3000 years ago. The word Yoga comes from a Sanskrit word meaning "union" of mind, body and soul and can provide perfect harmony and balance. Hatha Yoga is a general name for all physical forms of yoga and it consists of Asana (body postures), Pranayama (breathing exercises) and deep relaxation. Mmm. "When the dancer moves, the focus is on the internal energy connected to the breath. The breathing leads the body." We are now offering a 3 day yoga workshop for the beginners, price £20 or drop in £8 per class. Classes will run in the morning from 9-10:15 before the music kicks off. · Day one: focusing on the anatomy of our feet which provide stability, support and mobility for our bodies with the intention to establish a good foundation of each pose to help us feel more grounded and stable, as with the stable body we develop stability of mind. "Breathing in, I calm my body. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment I know this is a wonderful moment." Check her work out HERE! |
