When heavy metal supergroup Hellyeah took to the Swiss stage the growing crowd were hungry for some hard-rock action. Okay, they might have been a bit muddy, but Devil Driver had just warmed them up with some rousing metal and people were streaming in from the campsite. So, how'd it go?

"Awesome dude," said former Pantera and Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul when Team Sonisphere caught up with him just before he jumped on his tour bus. "it's just good to be here. Honestly, we could have gone out there and tanked, but we had a blast. Although it's pretty nice now, there was mud and rain and cold and wind, but you know what the fans that were there to see us had a great time and we felt really good about the appearance."

Hellyeah, which also consists of Mudvayne's Chad Gray and Greg Tribbett and Nothingface guitarist Tom Maxwell, is now the main priority for all the band members with a new album coming out in Europe on June 28.

"we've committed our selves to a two-year tour for this band and after that's done hopefully we'll make another record. If we need to take some time for the guys to do some other stuff then we'll do that, but this band is going to be around for a long time," says Vinnie. "When you hear Stampede you'll hear that it goes on fucking rollercoaster ride from as heavy as anything we've done in our history to more bluesy to Southern rock sounding. If you had to categorise it I'd have to say hard rock."

Hellyeah will be back in Europe in November and Vinnie says "we'll definitely be back to do festivals here again in the summer. We love it here."
