New audiovisual dialogues

Sónar 2015 presents the collaboration between the young and talented producer Koreless and the visual artist Emmanuel Biard, who also created the mise-en scene for the concert by Evian Christ, another artist who will feature in the line-up of Sónar by Day. The show they have worked on together is called "The Well" and it features a convergence of the former's spiral rhythms and the latter's fascinating lighting design.

In the same vein, French artist Joanie Lemercier -recognized for his work with the Antivj collective- will premiere "Blueprint" at SonarComplex, a new audiovisual piece created with Bristol musician James Ginzburg adapted especially for the festival. "Blueprint" explains the story of the cosmos and architecture through a powerful system of projections on two lateral screens and a central monolith.

Hip Hop and analogic dance

The festival adds the hyperactive Nick Hook, to its line-up, who will be giving us a session of eclectic analogue electronica for the big green dancefloor in SonarVillage; the Chilean beatmaker Dj Raff, moving freely between hip hop and dance music; and the collective Southern Hospitality, leading trackers of the best in current rap and r&b, with a session on the SonarCar stage on Saturday night.

New Spanish additions: Pional, Pedro Vian, EVOL, Blastto...

Sónar continues to add Spanish artists to its line-up, broadening the panoramic perspective on the scene in 2015. A particular standout is the show, for the first time at the festival, by Pional, one of the most respected artists in Spain and beyond, who will be giving us a live glimpse of some of the new material that he will be releasing in the autumn.

Sónar by Day will host live shows by Skygaze (responsible for opening the festival on Thursday at SonarVillage), the experimental Davic Nod and EVOL, as part of the Editions Mego showcase; and sets by Pedro Vian, head of the platform Modern Obscure Music, the emerging Innercut and Downites and two members of the Colectivo +0, movers and shakers on the Canary Islands scene.

In Sónar by Night we will be able to enjoy the powerful basses of Blastto, the infinite wisdom of Angel Molina (with the set prior to the concert by Duran Duran), the elegant tech-house of Baldo, the kaleidoscopic nocturnal pop of Cascales, the trap of Will Blake, the visual set of Render b2b Veski, from the collective MK Ultra, and the young dancefloor talent of Uroz and Carreno is LB.

Red Bull Music Academy completes the SonarDôme stage line-up

Ten new artists join and complete the line-up on the SonarDôme stage at Sónar by Day, presented and curated by Red Bull Music Academy.

Two names stand out because of their background and quality. First, the American hip hop producer and d Just Blaze, a legend of the genre who has worked with Jay-Z, Eminem, Kanye West, Diddy, Drake and Kendrick Lamar, among many others. On a diametrically opposite plane, the other major name in this new batch of confirmed appearances is Nazoranai, a supergroup consisting of three stars of cutting edge experimentation: Japan's Keiji Haino, the American Stephen O'Malley -of SunnO))) and KTL- and the Australian guitarist Oren Ambarchi.

Joining them will be various emerging artists from very different backgrounds and styles: Lost Twin (beats and abstraction from Seville), Teengirl Fantasy (analogue house from New York), Christian Kroupa (deep techno from Slovenia), Olefonken (space disco from Norway), Adda Kaleh (dream pop from Romania), Sumorai (groove house from Sweden), Ah! Kosmos (dreamy electronica from Turkey), and Wife (dark synthetic rhythms with a pure UK flavour).
