Sónar 2015 announces the first names for Sónar Barcelona where over 150 performances will be presented at Sónar by Day (Fira Montjuïc) and Sónar by Night (Fira Gran Vía)

Keystones of electronica
Among the sacred groups of global electronica, very few can boast the success and acclaim of The Chemical Brothers and Autechre.

The Chemical Brothers will premiere a new and spectacular show for 2015, and will once again work together with filmmaker Adam Smith on a performance that promises to be an overwhelmingly ecstatic cinematic and sound experience. Autechre -the most respected duo in abstract and experimental electronica- is also back to Sónar to perform one of their increasingly rare concerts where they will demonstrate why it is impossible to understand the development of IDM over the last 25 years, without including their essential contribution.

New benchmarks
Sónar will present performances from Vessel and Evian Christ, two of today's most exciting young techno and abstract beat explorers, both whose respective shows will carry an explosive sensorial impact; and Lee Gamble, an experienced sonic adventurer who will present a new audiovisual concept together with London designer Dave Gaskarth. Three women will also showcase their uncompromising artistic discourse: American Holly Herndon, creator of dystopian worlds with a futuristic sound and aesthetic; Kate Tempest, the British poet and performer who has achieved remarkable success with her latest LP "Everybody Down"; and Hamburg native Helena Hauff, faithful disciple to the continuation of the most resonant techno and electro. The festival will also host the emotive and dance friendly techno of Kiasmos, the project from Icelandic pianist Ólafur Arnalds together with Janus Rasmussen; the luminescent penetrating melodies of Ten Walls, just as his career is taking off; the hypnotic house of contrasting British dj Daniel Avery; and the colourful kaleidoscopic PC Music melodies of Sophie, recent collaborator with Madonna Nicki Minaj and Diplo.

Open and organic sounds
As always there will be room for pop and black music , with famous and groovy New Zealand band Fat Freddy's Drop mixing wisdom dub, reggae and soul with techno and house; the British pop-funk marvel Kindness who will arrive with his new release "Otherness" firmly in his back pocket; and Tourist, English producer William Philips, featuring a tantalizing audiovisual live show in which the piano will take centre stage.

Local scene acts with international potential
Each year, Sónar scours the national scene and selects the most internationally representative artists: the collective PXXR GVNG, new national trap music heroes, whose powerful identity i   is increasingly winning over more and more fans. The extremely talented Niño, now considered a mature musician with his very own sound; and the incredibly young Mans O, newly signed to Disboot and creator of beautiful musical pieces somewhere between electronic and acoustic.
