One month before the festival starts, Sónar+D announces all the content of its exhibition areas: MarketLab, AppCafé and SonarCinema.

The year's most innovative projects and prototypes will be at MarketLab,exploring new forms of creation, production and marketing. They are ideas that originated in leading laboratories, universities, R + D centres, and Spanish and international companies. They include the presence of the Italian creative research centre Fabrica, one of the most prestigious in the world, which will be presenting Sway, an environment designed to experience the texture of sound. We will also be able to see for ourselves what Flone, the flying smartphones designed to explore the public space, consist of. And we will also find out what Oval Sound sounds like - the electronic version of the hang, a cult instrument that is very difficult to get hold of and very highly rated by percussion lovers all over the world. Sedition, the contemporary art platform for all types of screens -which includes works by artists such as Damien Hirst and Quayola-, will be exhibiting a selection of limited editions from their exuberant collection. Meanwhile, LittleBits, the year's most important open hardware platform, will showcase its collection of electronic modules that are interconnected by magnets, which allow everyone to become inventors.

Nineteen of the most creative and innovative applications for mobiles in recent months can be tried out at AppCafé, including Polyfauna, developed by the renowned Universal Everything studio with the British band Radiohead; The Bermuda Tapes, an interactive album that sheds light on a particular time in John Lennon's life, using the material that he created on his visit to Bermuda; Monument Valley, one of the most successful aesthetic applications of recent years, with drawings inspired by M.C. Escher, Japanese engravings and 3D minimalist design; and Audiosnaps, whichcan record 5 seconds of sound while you are taking a picture, and then store it all in a single file for sharing via social networks.

SonarCinema is now a space within the Sónar+D programme, with the screening of 13 films, including pieces of work about the South African scene, the label Stones Throw, the Low End Theory nights in Los Angeles, a year on tour with Buraka Som Sistema, and the presentation of the Barcelona-based production company CANADA, currently one of the world's most important in the music video field. We will be announcing the entire Sónar+D programme over the next few days.
