Sonar 2011 presents the shows by Underworld, Aphex Twin, Magnetic Man, M.I.A., James Murphy, Paul Kalkbrenner, The Human League, Boys Noize, A-Trak, Yelle and Tiga, among more than 250 artists.

The festival's stages, in both Barcelona and Galicia, will become enormous dancefloors where you can enjoy some of the most important artists in today's Spanish and international electronica.

SONAR BY DAY

The three days of Sonar by Day include several DJs and producers who have the dancefloor firmly in their sights. This is true of the djs on the Ninja Tune label Offshore and Shuttle, South Africa's Jullian Gomes and Britain's kidkanevil, all of whom will be performing on Thursday 16th. On the next day, Friday 17th, it will be time to enjoy a modern house classic, France's Agoria -with a special daytime set- in addition to the renowned Four Tet (with a sound all of his own that is increasingly focused on club culture), two of Spain's best DJs, Carlos Hollers and Nacho Marco, and several of the artists featured at SonarDôme by Red Bull Music Academy, such as Zinc, Discodeine and B. Bravo. Finally, Saturday 18th sees the turn of legendary British DJ Gilles Peterson, the Spanish specialists Judah, Debilorithmicos and the binomial of DJ Sith + David M, the enigmatic disco-house duo Tiger & Woods and the bass house of Romania's Cosmin TRG, among many others.

SONAR BY NIGHT

On Friday 17th June, Sonar by Night includes many of the biggest names at the festival and hence in today's electronica. Starting with Aphex Twin, a key name and one of the most respected and admired artists in the international arena, who will be giving us one of his vibrant shows halfway between a live performance and a dj set. With him, at SonarClub, are the legendary The Human League, the marvellous M.I.A., the new dubstep of Scuba, the acid of Boys Noize and the Dutch moombathon of Munchi, among others. Meanwhile, SonarPub hosts, Trentemøller, Dizzee Rascal, Steve Aoki, A-Trak, South Africa's Die Antwoord and the closing session with James Murphy, the leader of the recently wound up LCD Soundsystem. As well as all the above, there are showcases by Natura Sonoris and Russian Beats on the new SonarCar stage, the concert by Cut Copy, the invasion of artists and presenters brought to you by BBC Radio 1 at SonarLab and the late night session by Canadia's Tiga among many others.

And on the final night, on Saturday 18th June, you can enjoy the show by Underworld at SonarClub, who will be sharing the stage with the producer Chris Cunningham (presenting a spectacular audiovisual show), the stadium dubstep trio Magnetic Man, and a quartet of top drawer djs: The Gaslamp Killer, Surgeon, Angel Molina and Silent Servant. But that's not all: SonarPub features the amazing Africa Hitech, the new black music star Janelle Monáe, the renowned British dj James Holden and one of the most popular techno producers working today, Germany's Paul Kalkbrenner (who has just released a new album); while SonarLab features the showcase by the Scottish label Numbers and the sessions by the UK's Shackleton and Spain's Chelis (rounding off proceedings on the stage) and SonarCar includes the presence of Galicias' Noaipre and two top quality showcases like those by Night Slugs (the key label in modern bass music) and InFiné (high carat house from France).
