 Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti… The situation in the Horn of Africa is becoming more and more dramatic. The heart-breaking circumstances under which more than 10 million people are trying to survive will leave nobody untouched. Pukkelpop has decided to sit back no longer. We want to contribute and are asking for your help. How can you help? Take part in our large-scale ‘text’ (SMS) action and lots of other initiatives supported by the artists and our partners. Up until and including 21 August you can send the message ‘HELP’ to 4342. In this way you will donate 1 euro per text message to the 1212 initiative. Pukkelpop will double the final amount of all the donations! On our homepage and on those of some of our partners the action will literally jump up and catch your eye by means of a pop-up. You will be able to click through to a Pukkelpop page entirely dedicated to our charity effort. Via all the means of communication the web offers (Facebook, Twitter, newsletter, etc.) Pukkelpop, its partners and the artists will be drawing attention to the charity action. During the festival we will appeal to as many people as possible to text the ‘Help’ message, using posters, ticker tape messages and our big screens. At Petit Bazar there will be an attraction where festivalgoers will be able to donate some money. Pukkelpop has asked all partners and artists to actively participate in our charity initiative. Several of our sponsors will put up posters and place collection boxes in their stalls on the festival site. All kinds of communication channels will be used to keep you informed about our action.
