International project ((superar)) is based in more than 30 countries and now it's being established in Slovakia as well. The aim of the project is to, under the supervision of real professionals, arouse interest in music in kids with different backgrounds, including those that come from the poorest families. Since June last year, the first Slovakian youth orchestra ((superar)) provides twenty kids from Banská ?tiavnica and its surroundings with regular singing classes, music and vocal trainings and teaches them to be self-confident, to be able to work in a team and to respect diversity. Such ensembles (soon to be founded in other towns of Slovakia as well) represent an example of power and beauty of diversity - linguistic, ethnic, religious or cultural - and form a foundation for the understanding of what kind of society we want to co-create. Supported by Nadácia otvorenej spolo?nosti, the Banská ?tiavnica ensemble is going to perform at our festival.
