This Sunday, the annual Radio_Head Awards gala will be taking place, but its media partners - .tý?de? weekly and SME daily - have already revealed the first this year's laureate. A Radio_Head Award for Contribution to Slovak Music will go to a guy with a shy smile, Pa?o Maru??ák. His work of the past thirty years is like a map of music events of that period in Slovakia. He took part in organizing concerts of many (including forbidden) bands at the Mladá Garda college dormitory, which was Bratislava's hub of the alternative before the Revolution. He was one of the organizers of the legendary ?ertovo kolo, founded Jazznica festival and, for a few years, was part of organization team at our festival as well. His Pavián Records released a number of amazing albums, from Iva Bittová, through Le Payaco, Para, Billy Barman to Vladimír Godár. But his name will always remain associated with the music shop Dr. Horák, which deserves the attribute "cult' for sure. Pali, congratulations!
