This year we're starting the round of artist interviews from the moors of Scotland!

Egebamyasi is an Acid House pioneer who's been producing music since the 1980's and this year he's going to rock Gravity stage.

You've been around for a while - in fact around 40 years. How've you seen the acid house scene evolve (or devolve) in Scotland and Britain during that time?

- When I started playing the 303 in 1984, I had never heard of acid house, I never realized the machinegg I had produced the acid sound.

- I just found a machinegg I liked the sound of and went with it. Egglectronics was kind of just starting back then and in Scotland there was no such thing as electronic music. It wasn't till years later that things started to makegg sense regarding the 303 and acid music.

- Eby made their 1st record in 1986, but it was more high energy than acid because no one was interested in recording acid music in Scotland. The scenegg has massively changed in that back in the day acid house was unique and very different, unusual.

- It's lost all its mystique now because it has become so popular / overground and mass-produced due to much cheaper replicas and clones. The cheaper machines are a good thing but at the same time they have ruined the underground of it all. Many eggsellent tunes have come out of the 303 and if there was no acid house there would have been no teggno.

You often use eggs and Scottish kilts in your aesthetic. Why's that?

- Eggverybody was an egg once and I've just carried on being one, plus I havegg a head like an egg as am a bladie. I believegg the world was started by a muna falling from the sky. I lovegg Skotlanti I lovegg the tartaani and the haggis.

- I comegg from a very famous clan called McEgg. We were the lords o'the isles.

Is this your first time in Finland? Any spoilers to what Kosmos Festival is in for?

- Yeggs I havegg never been so far north beforegg. Copenhagen was about as closegg as I've been. I'm very much looking forward to playing to new ears, in new surroundings and meeting new people.

- I'm on a crash Finnish course so I can communicate a bit. I think the language sounds great and I hopegg to make some great Finnish connections.

- The Eggsperiences am looking for are.... Beer, meat, chips, musics, salmiakki and seeing some flying squirrels. Also, hopegg to find some Finnish muna and munakupit so pleasegg bring some....... Munapeace xxx

Thank you for the interview and see you on Gravity!
