Jessika Suvanto has been part of Kosmos since she was little and has basically grown into it. Still, helping with the festival is a conscious choice for her. She has a unique perspective on the production of Kosmos - let's hear it!

Your path to Kosmos Festival is a bit unusual. Can you tell us about yourself, what do you do and how did you end up working in Kosmos?

- I was born into a family that loves techno and its subgenres. Raised with familiarity and respect towards the sound, people and the hard work that goes into it all. I've seen Kosmos built from the ground up and I always helped here and there; but I officially started working in the office five years ago. Laminating tickets and helping wherever needed has been my main job, but last year I also started working in the artist office. I ensure their accommodation, rides and whatever else they may need. Otherwise, I do any random task handed to me - I'm basically the office assistant.

You're one of the youngest in Kosmos crew, how does it feel?

- It can definitely be a bit nerve wracking. Even with my history in the scene I obviously do not have nearly as much experience as everyone else. As intimidating as it is, I'm so grateful to have the chance to do what I do and I will always try to work harder and harder to keep my place in the Kosmos crew. I definitely would not be where I am without such an accepting and encouraging environment.

Why do you think so many people dedicate themselves to this kind of project for a decade, or a lifetime?

- Kosmos has always been and always will be a passion project, not just for the founders but for everyone involved. Over the decade it has grown into what we know through pure love and hard work from everyone involved. Every single person, old or new, has their own part to play and their own skills to share. Year after year we all gather together to pour all of our devotion into something we truly enjoy and appreciate. I believe the community and passion we have is what will keep the festival going strong for years, even decades to come.

What are you looking forward to this year?

- For years now my favorite place has been the Levitation station. There's always been something so intriguing, almost magical about a "hidden' stage deeper in the forest you can find if you wander off. The small, homely stage with its fast sound, spacious dance floor and accepting and loving community has definitely found its place deep inside my heart. I highly suggest checking out the Levitation station - especially with the new path, bar and hang out spots made by their amazing team last year! I'm so excited to see what they have in store for this year.
