Iceland Airwaves is proud to team up with some of today's most innovative music gurus who will host showcases at our largest off-venue programme yet. One of these collectives is Young Hearts Run Free, based out of Dublin. Since 2008, they've organized music and literary events put on in unusual places, and raised several thousand euros for the homeless along the way. As part of the 2013 Iceland Airwaves off-venue program, they will provide showcases of some of the best artists in Irish music, at Lucky Records on Friday 1st November, and the Volcano House on Saturday 2nd November. The showcases will feature; the renowned Dónal Lunny (one of Ireland's most esteemed traditional musicians), Katie Kim, The Spook of the Thirteenth Lock, Adrian Crowley, and Villagers. There will also be some surprise special guests at the showcases, which are supported by Culture Ireland. Also at these off-venue shows, they will be raising money for the Reykjavik homeless, continuing the work they do back in Ireland. TAKK to Young Hearts Run Free for putting on some fantastic performances, all for a great cause.
