Cockney Rejects, the pioneers of the Oi! punk sound, were formed in 1979 at London’s East End. After the big success of their debut EP "The Flares and Slippers", soon the word was spread about Cockney Rejects across Europe. Singles “Bad Man” and “Greatest Cockney Rip Off” came out shortly after, the latter reaching 21st place on the charts, making it possible for the band to perform at the ever-popular TV show Top Of The Pops. The song “Oi, Oi, Oi” from the second album is the one to blame for street punk music being known as Oi!
