One of the essential post-punk bands will be holding their first European concert in Vitoria-Gasteiz for the 40th anniversary of their legendary album "Entertainment!'?? 

Gang of Four are one of the most important bands in the history of post-punk, since the release of their legendary début album "Entertainment!' in 1979, chosen by the magazine Rolling Stone as one of the 5 most important post-punk bands (also featuring in their list of the best 500 records in the history of music), and by Pitchfork as the 8th best record of the 70s. After playing at festivals such as Primavera Sound, FIB or Azkena Rock over a decade ago, Gang of Four return to Vitoria-Gasteiz to play at the ARF, for what will be their first European concert playing their legendary album "Entertainment!' in full, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its release on a very historic occasion. 

Having formed in Leeds (UK) in 1976, Gang of Four played for the first time in 1977. All of the great bands that followed them, Red Hot Chili Peppers, INXS, Massive Attack, Alice in Chains, Faith no More, Rage Against the Machine, R.E.M. or?U2 have recognised their debt to Gang of Four; even in recent years the band's influence has become almost universal, with the appearance of formations influenced by post-punk such as The Rapture, Nine Inch Nails, Interpol, or?Bloc Party.

The British band joins the festival line-up following the cancellation of Melvins a few days ago due to the poor health of Dale Crover, which has forced him to cancel his entire European tour.?The Azkena Rock Festival?will be held between 21 and 22 June in Mendizabala, Vitoria-Gasteiz.
