| Born in Sao Luis, Maranhao, Brazil, the multi-instrumentalist Madian started as a drummer and percussionist. Shortly thereafter, he discovered his talent as a lyricist and singer. Traveling around Brazil, he studied in depth the "forrobodologia", 'science' that unpacks the regional folk rhythms of Brazil. Joined groups such as Mandorová, Cabruêra, Kingteto, Sopa de Garfos and the Escarcéu, with them he worked on reinterpretations of great composers like Egberto Gismonti, Frank Zappa, Os Mutantes, Walter Franco, Luis Gonzaga, Jhon Cage, Hermeto Pascoal, Arrigo Barnabé , Secos e Molhados, Megadeth, Tom Jobim, Jackson do Pandeiro, João do Valle, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, Iron Maiden, etc. .. Parallel to all this, he began a compulsive creation of his compositions, which feature a visceral mixture of metaphorical lyrics, modern and universal sound and roots planted in the hypnotic rhythms of the Brazilian folklore. His inspiration literal addresses topics such as quantum physics, chaos theory, elements of nature, metaphysics. His compositions have elements of jazz, rock, metal, fusion, experimental, african, blues, waltzes, classical music, reggae, etc.. All this structured through the singular drumming of the Brazilian culture, such as baião-de-caixa, frevo, samba, Bumba-meu-boi, tribo de índio, Xote, bossa nova, maracatu, tambor-de-crioula.... Back to his hometown, São Luis, he joined the Escarcéu, a group that epitomizes the union of musicians and artists, partners who collaborate on compositions, recordings and concerts. He recorded his debut album, Sinfonia de Baticum (Symphony of the Baticum), with musical direction, production and tasteful arrangements of Maestro Vidal França, who was a recognized holder of RCA Victor and worked with artists such as Chico Buarque, Simone, Paulinho da Viola, Xangai, among others. Madian has participated in several brazilian festivals such as Ceará Music, O Maior São João do Mundo, Festival de Inverno de Campina Grande São João do Maranhão, Festival Universitário da Canção, Maranhão Pop Music. |
