Influenced by Scandinavian Black and Death Metal, guitarist Bloodthirst had been working on his own material for a long period, but couldn’t recruite appropriate musicians to realize a band project in his area. It took until 2008, when he joined forces with drummer Filthgrinder, that the first sessions proceeded. Just a few months after being established, the project unfortunately had to be laid
on ice for more than a year, due to personal reasons.
But the unhallowed spark never extinguished, and with Essark on vox joining in, the unholy alliance arose from its ashes in early 2010, just to be enforced by Zeppomath on bass a few months later. From that point UNHALLOWED constantly worked hard on new material, and in late summer 2010 several songs had ripened to be recorded for a demo.
On 01 October 2010 UNHALLOWED entered a local studio for a few days to record five sonic missiles. The result is the first demo called ‘Blackened Skies’, finally unleashed upon mankind after being delayed a several times, due to technical difficulties beyond the band’s control.
Besides having already gathered material for more than a full length album which will be recorded in autumn of 2012, the Unhallowed Legion has recruited Nebirus on rhythm guitar in late summer 2011 and finally spreads its venom also live on stage…
