| Jim was born in 1971 on the South coast of England, and has been playing guitar and singing rockabilly, blues and country songs for as long as he can remember. He wrote his first song at age 11, and started a band in 1985, influenced by rockabilly and psychobilly. In 1996 he got a 3 album deal with Crazy Love Records, and first toured Germany and Austria in 1997; which was the beginning of a love affair with the German people, as Jim feels that Germans have a great appreciation of cool music, and they love to have fun! Since then Jim has toured extensively throughout Germany, Skandinavia, the rest of Europe and even Russia and LA a few times, and played guitar live and on record for many bands like Caravans, Dead Kings, Mad Dog Cole, Levi Dexter and Viktoria Modesta. Although Jim has always concentrated on rockin' music, he also had a punk rock band for a while - XX Cortez, and most recently Jim had success with his band Whip Crackin' Daddies, featuring great musicians such as Choppy on double bass. Jim is also working with Streetclip TV, interviewing old friends and bands for I Sold My Soul Media, and he enjoys this very much too! In 2010 Frank Dickau from I Sold My Soul Media suggested that Jim should work with him just as "Jim Jeffries" as throughout all the various bands and lineups, it is Jim that writes the songs and produces the music. So in 2010 Jim started work on his new record deal with I Sold My Soul, and his debut album was released in September 2011. Jim describes the style of this album as being influenced by Johnny Cash, Chris Isaak, Hot Boogie Chillun, Depeche Mode and the King himself of course - Elvis! |
