| Das Schlagzeug donnert in schrägen Takten, der Bass ist tight mit der Snare wie ein Löschblatt, die Keyboards glühen und vibrieren, die Gitarre brät fett UND filigran dazwischen, und der Gesang schafft es trotzdem Ohrwurmcharakter zu haben. Willkommen bei phi. English Bio: he first incarnation of phi (with Peter Leitner on bass guitar) existed from 2006 to 2008, playing at many small festivals and finally achieving successes at several band contests. In october 2008 the band won the first prize (Falco-Preis) at the austria finale of the podium.jazz.pop.rock contest, impressing the jury that consisted of known austrian professional musicians. The scale of the band's songs and performance was compared to the big Progressive Rock bands of the seventies, including Pink Floyd, Genesis and Yes. The connections and the reputation of the band reached a new height, but still the time of this incarnation was over. The remaining Nick Koch and Markus Bratusa spent the following year with re- and overthinking the concept of the band, further deepening the connections to the viennese music scene, and finding new musicians for the band who share the love and the needed abilities and attitude for this special, difficult kind of rock music. In february 2010 Arthur Darnhofer-Demàr and Christoph W. Pirker joined the band on bass and keyboards/synths - and therefore the second incarnation of phi has been born, hoping to energetically realize the band's potential. |

| Meine Band phi würde sehr gern bei euch spielen! Wir machen melancholischen aber dennoch sehr druckvollen New Art Rock, entfernt vergleichbar mit Bands wie Tool, Porcupine Tree, King Crimson oder Pink Floyd. Wir sind eine junge aber sehr ambitionierte Band (Altersschnitt 21 Jahre) und freuen uns über jeden Gig, für den unsere Kosten gedeckt werden. Wir haben unter anderem einige Contests erfolgreich bestritten, und unsere Musiker (3 von 4 stehen am Anfang einer professionellen Musikerkarriere) sind auch in anderen renommierten Bands tätig, zB. Wickerl Adams Hallucination Company oder Pascal Giefing Band (am Echte Wiener II Soundtrack). Wir sind gerade im Aufnahmeprozess für unser erstes Volllänge-Album, als Hörprobe kann ich momentan unsere EP Half Hour Universe aus dem Jahre 2007 anbieten: http://phimusic.bandcamp.com/track/clouds |
