About HrayBery:
HrayBery/ГрайБери brings back to life forgotten music created at the meeting point of two cultures - Polish and Ukrainian. The band's repertoire consists primarily of dance pieces (cossacks, kolomyjkas, mazurkas, polkas and waltzes) reconstructed on the basis of archival sources: sheet music and audio recordings. These melodies were collected by Ukrainian and Polish researchers in the San basin and other parts of eastern Galicia. The instruments used by the band (such as violin, dulcimer, drum and bass) were common in these areas from the end of the 16th century.
The band's sound allows the listener to immerse themselves in the old, multicultural dance music of regions inhabited together by Poles, Ukrainians, Jews and Roma.
